Thanksgiving Reflections

Ahhhh! The lovely time of year to sit back and relish the great things of life and to be grateful for all of them. always-something-to-be-thankful-for

Thanksgiving was wonderful this year! I had it off, and I got to go to the community Thanksgiving feast at the Senior Center. Wow! What a fun event!

There was heaps of delicious food, hot and heavy pumpkin pie, live piano music that sounded just like my dad’s playing, but was an older local Eskimo man playing. He learned from his mom after being in awe of her playing when he was little. :)

This awesome family~the Hobbs, my adoptive family~ served the dinner:

And not only did I get time off, but my amazing boyfriend came up from Southwest Alaska to hang out.Me and Dave

Then later that evening, we went to hang out with a few more families and friends around Nome. It was so wonderful to feel the warmth of the community. I got to meet the movers and shakers of the community, the lawyer, the town newspaper editor, and other cool, down-to-earth people.

We also got to do other fun things, like hang out with a few pilots and host a couple for dinner, share lots of amazing stories, walk down to the Bering Sea.

So many good things.

And, now, it’s the final month of the year! Enjoy it!!! We’ll never get this time back. The best kind of Advent Calendar, from one of my hero friends here in Nome, a chocolate advent calendar. :) Happy December 1st!IMG_8795.JPG
